Dr. Mccall has been working at the clinic since 2013. In her spare time she loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her pets and family.

Dr. Rachel CawleyVeterinarian

Dr. Rachel Cawley is a native of North Carolina but moved to Tifton when she was in second grade. She received an undergraduate degree in poultry science from the University of Georgia in 2015 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. She never strayed from her childhood dream of wanting to be a vet, and she enjoys the sense of community that comes from practicing in a small town. “I love being a part of a practice where I see my clients at church or at the grocery store. I grew up in a small town, and I am happy to be practicing in a place where people know each other.”

Dr. Cawley was an avid 4-Her and credits 4-H with giving her the communication and leadership skills necessary for being an effective vet. “I have to be able to explain to my clients what their pet’s condition is in a way that is understandable and accurate, but I also have to be sensitive to how they will receive that news. I want them to know that I care about them and their pets while at the same time making their options for treatment clear.” 4-H is also where Dr. Cawley discovered her passion for chickens; she was part of a national champion poultry-judging team. She served several internships and externships with poultry researchers and industry. Dr. Cawley enjoys advising clients on how to keep their backyard chickens happy and healthy.

When she has free time, Dr. Cawley enjoys cooking for friends and spending time with her best friend, a Boykin Spaniel named Doc, who is known for his goofy antics and charming personality. She and Doc also enjoy visiting her twin sister, who lives in Virginia.

Sherry Smith Hospital Manager

Sherry has been with Blackshear for 6 years.

What Sherry loves about her job is she loves the clients and meeting new people, but she also enjoys spending time and giving the animals love the most.

Sherry’s hobbies include gardening, which she loves. For downtime, she likes to float around in her pool where she also likes to enjoy the company of her husband, kids, and grandchildren. Sherry also loves spending time with Snootie her kitty cat.

Abigail Durden Pharmacy Technician

As Director of Compliance, Abigail Durden is in charge of efficiently connecting with clients to be sure their pet’s appointments and follow ups are scheduled.

Mrs. Durden is also head of our Home Delivery service in which she ensures the patients of our hospitals remain on preventatives throughout the year.

With a background in Human Resources, Mrs. Durden provides superb customer service, ensuring client retention and loyalty.

Jay Green Veterinary Assistant

My name is Jay Green and growing up, I knew I always wanted to work with animals. I have 3 of my own, Leo, Blue, and Minor. During my free time, my family and I go on adventures and explore the great outdoors. Greeting new dogs and cats brings me great joy, and I have the honor to see something new everyday! Working at Blackshear Veterinary Hospital gives me the privilege to care and help others with their fur babies.

Nikki Breedlove Client Service Representative

Hi everyone my name is Nikki! I enjoy spending my time off playing with my fur-babies! Their names are Tiny and Waylon. Other than spending time with my pets, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. One of my favorite activities out side of work is shopping! I enjoy working at Blackshear Veterinary Hospital because I enjoy being around cats and dogs every day, and spoiling them!
